Thanks to the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, this park, which was a mountain of garbage for centuries, was transformed into Cairo’s first and largest park in 2005. Al-Azhar Park is now a haven for Cairenes and with Cairo day tours you can escape to the green gardens, emerald lawns and tranquil fountains.
