Hanging Church
Just south of the Coptic Museum on Sharia Mar Girgis a stone facade with Coptic and Arabic inscriptions marks the entrance to the 9th century Hanging Church also known as the Suspended Church. This ancient church is built over the Water Gate of Roman Babylon and that’s how it got its name.
