Visit Cairo’s Police Museum and Citadel

Police Museum: Inside the old prison building of the Citadel, the Police Museum is a weird and wonderful insight into Cairo’s past. Exhibits include artifacts from famous assassinations, some with the actual murder weapons.

Lower Enclosure: Next to the museum the Lower Enclosure (currently closed to the public) is historic. It’s the narrow passageway from Bab Al Azab where the Mamluks were massacred.

The Police Museum is a nice visit but the real highlight is the big courtyard nearby with views all the way to the Pyramids of Giza.
