This museum in Luxor has an amazing collection of antiquities from the end of the Old Kingdom to the Mamluk period. On the ground floor you will see several masterpieces including a limestone relief of Tuthmosis III a greywacke statue of the same pharaoh from Karnak Temple and an alabaster figure of Amenhotep III under the protection of Sobek the crocodile god. And a rare Old Kingdom piece: a relief of Unas ankh from his tomb on the west bank and also there are another landmarks in luxor you can visit such as Karnak Temple which is a massive complex covering 2 sq km the size of 10 cathedrals and Luxor Temple which built by the new kingdom pharaohs amenhotp III and ramses and Temple of Seti I which famous for his beautiful temple of abydos and Mut Temple Enclosure which built by amenhotep III and Montu Temple Enclosure also in luxor
In 2004 a new wing was opened for Thebes during the New Kingdom. The highlight is the display of two royal mummies Ahmose I and possibly Ramses I unwrapped in dimly lit rooms. The exhibits show Thebes military power during the empire building period with chariots weapons and daily life scenes of New Kingdom technology and there are also another landmarks in luxor you can try to visit also such as Valley of the Queens which is at the southern end of the theban hill side and New Gurna and Medinat Habu which is fronted by the sleepy village of kom lolah and backed by the theban moutain and Luxor Museum which has an amazing collection of antiquities from the end of old kingdom to the mamluk period

Back to the original building the ramp leads to the first floor where a seated granite statue of Amenhotep son of Hapu a high official deified in Ptolemaic times is on display. The Wall of Akhenaten constructed from blocks from Karnak shows a rare glimpse of temple life during the time of Akhenaten and Nefertit and there are also many tombs in luxor you can visit during your stay such as Tomb of Seti I which knwon as the best tomb in the valley and Tomb of Ramses VI (KV9) which is the grandest tomb in the valley of kings and Tomb of Tutankhamun KV (62) which is one of the smaalest in the valley and Tuthmosis III ( KV 34) which deeps in the hils Tomb of Tuthmosis IV ( KV 43) which one of the largest and deepest of the 18th dynasty and Tomb of Tawosret sethnakht (KV 14) which was the wife of of seti II and Tomb of Horemheb ( KV 57) where it is famous for its bas relief and Tomb of Merenptah ( KV 8) which is the second largest valley of the kings and Tomb of Ramsis IV ( KV 2 ) which is near the entrance of valley of kings
Other highlights include treasures from Tutankhamun tomb such as shabti figures model boats and gilded bronze rosettes from his funeral mask. Near the exit is a beautiful black and gold wooden head of Mehit-Weret, a goddess associated with Hathor found in Tutankhamun’s tomb.
Before the exit is a small hall with 16 statues found in Luxor Temple.
