Seti I, famous for his beautiful temple at Abydos, his grand tomb in the Valley of the Kings and the hypostyle hall at Karnak, died before finishing his memorial temple. His son Ramses II, who had a more robust style finished the temple. What is happened to the Temple in 1994 ?

The temple was severely damaged by floods in 1994 but has been restored since then. Visitors enter through a small door in the northeast corner of the reconstructed, fortress-like enclosure wall. The first and second pylons and the court are in ruins. The pharaoh’s palace no longer exists but recent excavations have uncovered its foundations just south of the court. This is the earliest known palace within a memorial temple and has the same layout as the better preserved palace at the memorial temple of Ramses III at Medinet Habu and also there are another landmarks in luxor you can visit such as Valley of the Queens which is at the southern end of the theban hill side and New Gurna and Medinat Habu which is fronted by the sleepy village of kom lolah and backed by the theban moutain and Luxor Museum which has an amazing collection of antiquities from the end of old kingdom to the mamluk period
