Amun-Ra meaning "hidden one" is an ancient Egyptian god with warrior qualities. He appeared during the Middle Kingdom and perhaps earlier around the Fifth Dynasty. By the New Kingdom he was the chief god of Egypt and Thebes. He merged with the sun god Ra to become Amun Ra the creator god the husband of Mut and the father of Khonsu of the Theban Triad.
