Ancient Egyptian God of Fertility and Earth
Geb the prince of the gods is the god of fertility and new life. He is also the god of minerals and precious stones found under the earth.
He is depicted as a man with green skin the color of the Nile, earth and life. He is often depicted carrying a goose on his head which is himself.
Geb was born to a mother named Tefnut and another named Shu and inherited the throne after being overthrown by Apophis the evil serpent. He was the third pharaoh.
God of the Earth
Nut Geb is sister and wife was a divine duo in the Heliopolitan Ennead. Their union produced four children: Osiris, Isis, Seth and Nephthys.
In art this represents his eternal struggle to return to Nut. Their separation is maintained by their father Shu who represents the valleys and mountains that separate them.
As god of the underworld Geb holds the souls of the unrighteous and the Ark forms his kingdom. Nut is the lid of the Ark and guards the gates of heaven.
